How to fill Income-tax online in India for salaried person ?
As a salaried person in India, you can file your taxes online using the following steps:
Collect your income and investment documents - Form 16, Form 26AS, and any other relevant documents such as investment proof, rent receipts, etc.
Go to the Income Tax Department's e-filing website (https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/) and register yourself as a new user.
Once you are registered, login to the website using your credentials and select the 'Income Tax Return' option.
Select the relevant assessment year and ITR form, which in this case would be ITR-1.
Fill in the required details, such as your personal information, income details, deductions, and tax payable.
Verify your tax return using either a digital signature or an Aadhaar OTP. If you don't have either of these, you can choose to generate an Electronic Verification Code (EVC).
Once your tax return is verified, submit it to the Income Tax Department.
You will receive an acknowledgement receipt, which you should save for future reference.
It's important to file your tax return on time to avoid any penalties or legal issues. The due date for filing income tax return for salaried individuals in India is generally July 31st of the assessment year. However, it's always a good practice to file your taxes as early as possible.
